Have Family Direct Funds? Looking to utilize your budget for sessions at The Sensory Playce? Here is the process:

  1. Health and Welfare requires that the participant is currently participating in Occupational Therapy.
  2. Health and Welfare also requires that parents receive a new customer orientation.  The orientation is provided by video.  Here is a link to the video to watch.
  3. Health and Welfare does not approve Memberships, but they will approve sessions.
    1. The number of sessions you request is up to the participant and based on the number of sessions you and your OT think are appropriate. In general, most participants select 52 or 48 annual sessions, (52 provides one weekly session and 48 provides 4 sessions per month). Other participants select multiple sessions per week (some have been approved for over 200 annual sessions) while others select a few times a year.
    2. Select the number of annual sessions you would like to request approval for and send an email to familydirect@thesensoryplayce.com requesting a generic invoice for that number of sessions to use in your initial plan request.
  4. Have your Occupational Therapist complete the Goods and Services form for sessions at The Sensory Playce. Include a copy of your current OT plan with the goods and services form (this is sometimes requested by H&W).
  5. Sessions are invoiced and paid on a quarterly basis.

Once your sessions are approved by Health and Welfare

  1. Send an email to familydirect@thesensoryplayce.com requesting a quarterly invoice. In your email please include participant name (and address if you have not previously been in), number of annual sessions approved and your plan year date. We will then send you your first quarterly invoice to submit for payment.
  2. If you have not previously been into The Sensory Playce we will send you our new customer paperwork to complete as well.
  3. Payment will either be sent to you or in some circumstances it will be sent directly to us. If the check is sent to you, either drop it off or mail it to us.
  4. Once payment is received by The Sensory Playce the number of sessions paid for will be put under the participants name and placed on their account. To use the sessions, you will provide the participants name and we will check the participant in utilizing one of their sessions.
  5. The Sensory Playce will send you quarterly invoices throughout the plan year for you to submit for quarterly payments.
